Title 1

Professional Qualifications of Teachers & Staff within School-wide Title 1 Schools

We know that student success is directly related to the quality of our educational staff. The Kaukauna Area School District  is committed to hiring and retaining high-quality staff members. One measure of teacher quality is their educational background and licensure.

Victor Haen School

ALL Victor Haen certified staff have at least a bachelor’s degree and are licensed by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.   Many staff have additional education beyond their bachelor’s degree.  In addition, ALL instructional paraprofessionals working at Victor Haen school have a “highly qualified” status which requires them to participate in specialized training or hold a two-year or more degree or equivalent credits.

For more information about Parents Rights to Know and our district policies please visit the District Title 1 Page.

Victor Haen Parent Involvement Policy & Partners in Learning Compact

TOGETHER: Students, Families, Teachers

VICTOR HAEN PARENT INVOLVEMENT POLICY

Victor Haen Elementary School recognizes that it is important, and necessary, to involve parents in its School Wide Title 1 Program. In order to accomplish this Victor Haen will do the following:

  • have an annual meeting with parents to explain the school-wide Title 1 program.
  • notify parents if their child has been selected for additional academic support and how students were selected for additional support.
  • provide volunteer opportunities for parents to be involved in the school/classroom, or participate in our school’s parent group (N.E.S.T.)
  • jointly agree on a compact that outlines the shared responsibilities for improved student achievement.
  • continue home/school communication through open houses, parent teacher conferences, academic night, progress reports, and school/classroom newsletters.
  • provide materials and suggestions to parents to help in educating their child through Partner in Learning Events events.
  • if requested, inform parents about the certification of the staff providing instruction to their child.

VICTOR HAEN PARTNER IN LEARNING PLAN/COMPACT

Our Partner in Learning Plan  is an agreement  to work together as a team to help your child be successful.  Together we can encourage learning and achieve success for all! At Victor Haen School we believe it takes a strong partnership between school and home for children to grow and reach their goals.
